Camps 2020

To ensure a safe and fun experience for everyone, the City of Poway is following guidelines established by state and local authorities, with additional guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Our top priority continues to be the health and safety of our campers, their families, our staff, and the community.

Participants:
    • will have their temperature checked with a non-contact thermometer prior to entering the facility
    • will be required to wear a facial covering if over the age of 2 when attending indoor or outdoor non-active sport
      related camps (effective 7/22/2020)
    • will not be required to wear a facial covering when actively participating in an outdoor active sport camp, but will
      be required to wear a facial covering during sign-in/out, breaks (unless eating/drinking), and anytime a six-foot
      physical distance cannot be consistently maintained outside of actively participating in the sport/camp (effective
      7/22/2020)    
    • will be separated into smaller groups (no intermingling)    
    • will have their own equipment and supplies when possible
    • will wash their hands and/or use hand sanitizer frequently
    • will be encouraged to social distance when possible
    • should try to bring disposable items for eating when possible (water bottles, lunch bags, utensils, food, etc.)

Instructors/Staff:
    • will have their temperature checked with a non-contact thermometer prior to entering the facility
    • will be required to wear a facial covering
    • will stay with an assigned group (no intermingling)
    • will wash their hands and/or use hand sanitizer frequently

Cleaning, Disinfection, and Ventilation:
    • facilities, equipment, and supplies will be cleaned and disinfected frequently
    • restroom capacity will be limited and cleaned between each use
    • doors and/or windows will be open when possible to introduce fresh outdoor air

The City of Poway will not allow instructors, staff, and/or participants to attend summer camp if they are sick and/or have recently had close contact with a person with COVID-19. COVID-19 symptoms include, but are not limited to: fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, headache, sore throat, and/or new loss of taste or smell. An isolation area has been established at each summer camp to separate any person that develops and/or exhibits COVID-19 symptoms.
