Semi-Annual Self-Haul Coupon

How It Works

EDCO residential customers will be mailed coupon twice a year for free disposal of one load of large bulky items (maximum 2 tons) at either the Ramona Transfer Station or the Escondido Transfer Station. This is for residential waste only - business/commercial loads will be charged a disposal fee.

• The first coupon is valid between May 1 and August 31. 
• The second coupon is valid between September 1 and November 30.

What to Do & Where to Go

Load your vehicle with household trash, yard waste, bulky items or other refuse (no hazardous waste). Regular disposal fees will apply for all loads over 2 tons. 

Residents can transport loads to the Ramona Disposal Service Transfer Station– OR – the Escondido Resource Recovery Transfer Station from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays only.

If using a manual trailer, you must transport your load to the Escondido Resource Recovery Transfer Station.

NO HAZARDOUS WASTE OR ELECTRONIC WASTE. Hazardous waste and e-waste includes but is not limited to: paints, pesticides, used oil, computer monitors, televisions, printers, etc. You can dispose of hazardous waste and e-waste at the Poway Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility, open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Please be sure to have your coupon with you and present a picture I.D. with the current address (or a copy of an EDCO trash bill that corresponds to the service address) listed on the reverse side of the coupon to qualify for free disposal. If you do not present the documents noted, you will be charged a disposal fee.
