Businesses or persons conducting certain types of specialized business activities may need to apply for a Regulatory License. This application and fee are in addition to the business certificate registration fee. A review by the County of San Diego Sheriff Department will be required prior to approval of the application. Allow up to six weeks for processing.
Some examples of activities requiring a regulatory license include:
- Amusement establishments
- Auction and auctioneers
- Carnivals
- Entertainment/Public Dance
- Firearm sales
- Secondhand dealers
- Peddlers
- Solicitors
Online Submissions are the fastest method to receive your Regulatory License, however you can apply in person or via mail with the forms below. To submit in person or via mail:
- Complete the corresponding application.
- Pay Fees – Regulatory License for each applicant on all new regulatory licenses.
- Submit your fees and application in person at Customer Services located at City Hall at 13325 Civic Center Drive, Poway, CA. Or mail your information to City of Poway- Attention Regulatory Licenses at PO Box 789, Poway, CA 92074.
