Chris Hazeltine was appointed City Manager for Poway in 2019. He has more than 30 years of public sector experience in San Diego county.
As City Manager, Hazeltine oversees an operating budget of $134.4 million, a workforce of 240 full-time employees, and capital improvement projects totaling nearly $101 million in fiscal year 2025-26.
Hazeltine graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in recreation administration and earned a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Point Loma Nazarene University.
