Fourth Grade Poster Contest
Water is one of our region’s most valuable resources and whether we are actively in a drought or not, it is important for our community to practice being “water wise” on an ongoing basis. To bring water conservation education to our students, the City of Poway is excited to participate in the long-running and popular North County Water Agencies (NCWA) Water Awareness Poster Contest for fourth graders.
The poster contest is a great opportunity to connect the concept of water conservation with how students practice saving water in their everyday lives. The contest theme is “Love Water, Save Water.” We ask students to show, through their art, how they love water or save water at home or school and use their imagination to encourage others to do the same.
Participation is simple. Fourth grade students use their creativity and imagination to design a picture with the theme “Love Water, Save Water” and return using the contest entry form. Entry deadline is April 10, 2026.
Three winners will be selected by the City of Poway, and we anticipate recognizing the winner at a City Council meeting in May. The winning posters will be pictured in the 2027 NCWA Water Awareness Calendar and eligible to compete in the regional contest among winners from other water agencies to have their winning poster appear on the calendar cover.
Our winners will each receive a gift card, along with a personalized water bottle featuring their winning art. To thank our teachers for participating, the winners’ classrooms will be awarded a gift card for end-of-year replenishment of classroom supplies. We invite all students to participate and share their creativity. Please note that prizes and the selected posters will be awarded to students who currently reside in the City of Poway.
