Free Fitness Programs
The City of Poway is pleased to offer the following free programs to our older adult community at the Mickey Cafagna Community Center! Please note that participants in the programs below will be required to sign a waiver before each class session.
Feeling Fit
Feeling Fit offers a safe, comfortable environment to engage in physical activity, social interaction, and fun. Learn about the benefits of exercise, health, and fitness components. All moves and exercises are designed to be adapted to various physical abilities and can be performed from a seated or standing position. Equipment is provided. Please bring water.
Days: Mondays and Thursdays
Time: Mondays: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.*
Thursdays: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.*

Location: Community Park, Sycamore Hall
Rollin' & Strollin'
Join us for this social dance and move-for-fun class for older adults! Designed for people of all ability and mobility levels, we use the principles of basic line dancing to adapt and create dance steps suitable for moving to music. Instruction will be provided throughout the hour. Please wear soft-soled shoes and bring water.
Days: Mondays
Time: 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Qigong
Learn to synchronize the mind, body, and breath! Qigong combines gentle flowing movements, relaxed breathing, and self-massage. This self-healing practice becomes a moving meditation as participants enjoy reduced stress and anxiety, and improved balance and coordination. Can be done from a seated or standing position. Please bring a yoga mat and water.

Line Dancing
Do you love music, like to dance, but don't have a partner? Learn to line dance! Each dance is a pattern of steps that repeats throughout the song. We'll learn a new dance each week to different music. Instruction provided during the first 30 minutes. Please wear soft-soled shoes and bring water.
Days: Wednesdays and Fridays

Accessible Yoga
Accessible yoga is an inclusive practice that adapts the yoga posture to each individual body. All older adults from beginner to advanced can safely and confidently participate at their own comfort level in a non-judgmental space. Poses can be performed from a seated or standing position. While this is primarily a mat class, chairs will be available. Please bring a yoga mat and water.

Time: 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.*
